Dr. Elliott Vichinsky Awarded ASH Lifetime Achievement Honor

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Elliott Vichinsky on being named the recipient of the Wallace H. Coulter Award for Lifetime Achievement in Hematology, the highest honor presented by the American Society of Hematology (ASH). He also played a pivotal role in developing California's universal newborn screening program for sickle cell disease and the nation's first statewide screening program for Alpha Thalassemia, creating a model that has influenced screening programs across the country.

His contributions include advancing disease-modifying therapies, improving care for patients with sickle cell disease and thalassemia, and helping define best practices that continue to guide clinicians worldwide.
